Bad delivery experience from Currys

Hi all,
I purchased a TV from my local Currys Digital store, in Oxford, last Sunday. I paid extra for their Premium delivery service so I could specifically arrange for it to be delivery today. I needed use a day of my holiday entailment so I could be here to receive the goods. Well by 5pm nothing had turned up. I phoned them up and they assured me that they would deliver today as they continue deliveries up to 10pm. I was then phoned at 6pm by the delivery company 'thetechguys'. They said that the delivery could not be made. This was because the delivery drive turned up at the Currys store at 5.45pm and found that it was shut. Well that's no surprise they shut at 5.30pm. Their trading hours are on their website.
I total annoyed that I wasted by holiday time for nothing. They have now said they can only make the next delivery on Sunday, but they couldn't give me a morning or afternoon time. I said that I was concerned the same thing would happen again considering they close earlier on a Sunday. They tried to blame the store saying they should have order the item from the local hub which could be picked up by the delivery driver early in the morning.
So my question is has Currys breach the terms of contract? I paid by credit card so should I tell the credit card company to withhold the payment? Can I just cancel the contract as they failed to deliver and goods and buy a TV from someone else instead? If I had purchased on-line I could use the 7 day remote selling rules to cancel but as I went into the shop I not sure of my rights to cancel.
Can anyone help.
P.S. If buying something from Currys and you need to get it delivered make sure they order the stock from the local hub and not use the shops stock.

I've seen that before. We once had the delivery crew turn up at 8 on a Sunday to pick something up (we open at 10.30).
Boy, did I have some choice words for the distribution centre on that day. In their defence, they did then come back later in the day to pick it up.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
