Added Value accounts - can I down grade easily?

I have a Gold/Added value account with Lloyds TSB that cost me £12 a month. I need to save money, but I want to keep some part of the 'added accounts' like the mobile phone insurance, travel insurance. - Can I just down grade to the Silver account for £7.95 a month easily? I'm assuming yes, but you never know with these companies. Also, if I recall (might be wrong, its so long ago) I'm sure when I originally upgraded account to a gold account, I think it was a new account number, etc. If I do down grade to Silver, would it mean a change in account number?

You can downgrade by going into a branch or ringing phonebank. By going down to the Silver, it doesn't change account number but you will get a new debit card. You can still keep using the one you've got til you get the new one and it's the same pin number.

I've downgraded and upgraded multiple times. 5 minute phone call, sorted. New cards and welcome pack within a week.

Yes you can - 2 things to take into account - 1 Silver travel insurance only covers trips in Europe.
2 Any preconditions that might have been covered by Gold will not be covered by Silver.
