as from next fri i will become redundant, my friend told me i can't make a claim for JSA because my wife is working more than 24hrs a week, if this true are there any other benefits i could claim ,( have no children ), as i only got a small sum of money for my redundancy it won't last forever.
thankyou

If you have been working the last few years then you should qualify for contribution based jsa and your wifes earnings wont affect this.

You should be eligible for JSA (CB) for 6 months. Housing Benefit doesn't exist in your situation but you can apply for LHA, although your wife's income will be used in the assessment. You can put your details into https://www.entitledto.co.uk which should give you an idea of your eligibility.
