I am having a nightmare over my kitchen which was fitted last week. After the Iraqi plasterers arriving and doing a dreadful job I am now having an issue over my cooker.
I have bought my kitchen from a local firm who came recommended. When they originally came out I stated I wanted a gas hob and electric double oven (I have cooked with electric ovens for 15 years). I got all new appliances so when my invoice arrived it stated so much for appliances..no breakdown of what appliances they were.
The oven went in last Thursday and the electrics connected last Friday. I was at work the day the cooker was fitted.
On Friday evening as all the electrics were on I had a little play with my new cooker and was horrified to discover it was gas. I hadnt even thought to check the right appliances had arrived as I assumed they would all be OK. The kitchen company rang me on the Saturday and I told them I was very surprised to have a gas oven but suppose Id have to live with it. Ive already had numerous problems over this kitchen and just wanted it all sorted and dealt with so didnt want even more fuss.
My main priority in this kitchen was a double oven. I could live with a gas double oven but this isnt. Its an oven and grill. I have a George Forman so havent used a grill for years so its useless to me. I now have an oven half the size of the one I had. I KNOW I was stupid not to check the oven but do I have any come back on this as the company are saying there is nothing I can do.
Im just so upset over the whole business of getting this kitchen done it has caused my nothing but stress..which is exactly what I was trying to avoid by using a local company
