That number above is definatly just their normal telephone banking number. When i eventually got through to an operator (after having to get told my account balance and how little money i had etc) I quoted the above reference and either the guy had no clue what it meant or he just heard the words 'financial hardship' and palmed me off.
  • Hi

Just a suggestion, why dont you try phoning the Head Office switchboard on 0207 991 8888 and if you explain your situation they will connect you to the relevent department, I've found them very helpful in the past

Their Customer Relations Manager has confirmed that this is the number that is correct.

They transferred you through to the financial hardship team which is what the first letter you should have got would have stated.
Did you already complete an income and expenditure form?
What address did they give you?

I completed an I+E form a few months ago. When i received my last refund, damn annoying i cant find the letter now with their number on it and the person who dealt with me.

The guy said that should i need another refund i just had to ring them up, and he'd go through it all on the phone.

Bit annoying, but have sent off another I+E form printed out from their website. The address they've given me now is:

    Financial Hardship Team
    The Manager
    Service Quality Team
    HSBC Bank Plc
    Arlington Business Centre
    Millshaw Park Lane
    Leeds
    LS11 0PP
  • The above address is the same one I have as well.

  • My telephone rings anytime from 8.30am to 8.30pm...and with some frequency due to calls from the HSBC.
I have rang the number given on the letter to only be put through to operators who are only able to read from scripts, however I had a new and interesting twist this morning.
I had recieved a letter and subsiquent phone message asking that i call the 0845 number and after repeating my details was told that it was not possible to use the facility and that i would need to go to my bank to set up a security password!!!
Me thinks this is just one huge time wasting exercise on the banks behalf....and have taken to addressing correspondance to my own bank manager as i am presuming they will have some kind of internal post system...this was due to recieving letters from many named individuals with the information sent not appearing to reach its intended recipient.
