Cheap flight/train from Perth/eEdinburgh to London

Hi. I would appreciate 
advice on cheapest public transport options for my son. He lives in Crieff but can get a lift into Edinburgh for airport. Destination is London. Do you know who flys the cheapest from Edinburgh, or if there is train routes he could connect up & get cheaply. I know he holds some kind of discount card that youngsters can get up there (he's 17).
He's due down just before xmas, so I need to get cracking. As he's then got to make his way down to Kent, I'm trying to keep the long haul as cheap as poss. Please advise me.

He can fly Dundee to London City.....not sure if thats a cheap option though.0

Look at Edinburgh airport's website to see who flies from there to London.
Look at East Coast Trains' website for trains to London.
Google will help you find these websites very easily.0 -
Direct train a day to London from Perth otherwise change in Edinburgh. Easyjet fly from Edinburgh.0

You can also change at Glasgow if you don't mind a 10-15min walk or free bus ride
Perth to London via Glasgow Central/Queen St £26 Advance single one way
