Home Damage, NHBC won't cover

How much would the repairs cost? If suitable, I would go down the small claims route.
I was in dispute with David Wilson Homes for three years, finally gave up on going between them and Zurich (equivalent to NHBC) and sent them notice of my intention to issue small claims proceedings. I got an offer for settlement shortly after.
Also, don't rely on Wimpey having paperwork relating to your earlier fault. DWH tried to tell me that I had never reported my fault ... and looked very silly when I presented a ream of correspondance between us!Gone ... or have I?0 -
The NHBC inspector came to assess the damage and the cause, and for some reason he was accompanied by a Wimpey rep. Not sure why or if this is normal practice.
This is normal. Don't forget that NHBC are funded by the building industry and their "paymasters" want they make sure that they are behaving properly !
They are the most useless so called protector of the customer's interests that has ever set foot on this planet !
I would take action in the Small Claims Court - certainly don't bother with the NHBC.0
