Re Capital One

Hi i am having trouble getting capital one to refunded me the charges on an old credit card. I have sent three letters to which they have offered a small amount, to which i have refused. Any help on what i need to do next would be greatly appreciated. Do i go through the FOS route, if so where do i send letter etc, or do i go through the courts, to which i am abit unsure as to what i do. Any help would be great.

  • I'm in the same boat. I've sent 2 letters claiming back charges + interest and they are still offering me the original amount. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  • I have gone through the same as both of you, Capital One offering a pittance of an offer(£127) then saying stop asking and accept otherwise if you keep asking we will reduce the amount we are offering. So i passed it on to the FOS with all my letters sent and received from Cap 1 and i have been informed by the FOS that Cap 1 have agreed to refund in full all my charges plus the stautory interest,(£809) so please hang on in there and take it all the way, it may mean a few weeks waiting but so worth it for getting the whole amount back.

Also i think they are trying it on as Xmas is near and people will think i'll accept the first offer as it will come in handy for Xmas
