Try http://www.prosper.com/ . It's an American site that allows members to lend each other money at a mutually agreeable rate. There has been a similar site operating in the UK for a while now - it's called Zopa, http://www.zopa.com/ .

can't comment on USA site but zopa hasn't had particularly good reviews on mse.
