Blushing

Hi, I have a chronic blushing problem where over the past year or so I've been blushing so often on occasions where there has been no need to blush - it just comes on all of a sudden.
It really is ruling my life at the moment and there are so many things that I won't do because of it.
Does anybody have experience of how to overcome this? So far I've tried cognitive behavioural therapy which didn't work for me, taking Vitamin B Complex which I heard could work but didn't for me and I was prescribed Propanalol, but again didn't work.
I'm now thinking of hypnotherapy.

From your name I'm guessing you are female? Well I'm a big burly bloke, and have always blushed. And of course, you know you are doing it which makes it worse. And then people comment on it which makes it even worse. For me there was no cure, just learning to live with it, and not to care. Once you get that attitude right then it really doesn't matter any more. Laugh along and accept it's a part of who you are. The funny thing is, now I don't make an issue of it, I do it less. If there was a magic blushing pill, the maker would be very rich.Been away for a while.0

There is a green coloured base cream (sorry i dont know which brand), i know this helps if you have a ruddy complexion, perhapsit may help with blushing?
I blush myself, and i know a lot of men find it attractive. Try not to worry about it, and that should help0 -
Hi
I have always blushed, and when i blush i get worse because i know im blushing, i always worked with people and blushed all the time. thankfully not many people ever mentioned it.
i also blush for no reason.
im not sure when i blush it would be attractive, lol, as i would make a good stop light for traffic
i have never been able to stop it. even now, im 31.
i also have several friends, all the same.
try and be relaxed, not think about it at all. and try not to worry, all easier said than done. i know.THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.0 -
I'm a blusher and always have been and the more i try to stop it the worse it gets...i even anticipate it sometimes and hey presto belisha beacon
I also have found in the past that men think its cute, but my sister used to always make fun of me and point it out to everyone which only makes it worse and i think quite cruel. I don't do it as much now but i don't mix as much as i used to due to health issues so not sure how bad it is anymore.
But i never tried anything to stop it, have you looked into EFT, its free and it might help, i use it for anxiety and stress, but it can be used on physical ailments too.0 -
Hiya I have suffered from severe blushing in the past, and Propanalol really helped me, how long have you been taking them? do you take them everyday?
I started on a low dose, which the doctor increased this really did the trick for me, I found taking them twice a day everyday for a couple of weeks at first and the once a day after that suited me.
Maybe ask the doctor to increase the dosage?
If you have tried this already, I don't know what else to suggest x£100 - £10,0000 -
what dose propananol have you tried? i initially had10 mg but it didnt work - dr then prescribed 40 which works great. apparently they can presc up to 100 mgs. you're not on your own with this problem - i blush and i hate it. people think it means you are shy but i'm not - i'm confident and not a nervous person but i still blush horrendously! who knows whyMANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

I am a blusher too. I used to use Boots 17 green cream under foundation, but the one thing that did work, and this might not be very good advice! was using surgical spirit on a morning. I would rub it into my cheeks with cotton wool and my face would go ashen and stay that way for a good part of the day. the things we do eh?50p/£24.00 Xmas 2010:rudolf:

OK that sounds a bit extreme!!!!
Blushing is attractive because it shows vulnerability. And blusher wouldn't exist if it wasn't considered attractive! xoxoxoGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
