A Exercise Bike Monitor Problem

I use a Exercise bike in my spare time to keep fit . I keep the Exercise bike in the back garden all the time and keep it and the monitor on it well protected from the weather at all times .

However in the last week since the weather turned wet and windy the monitor has not been working properly , the mode button does not work sometimes and the monitor does not switch off when i stop useing the bike

What is the problem is it the weather ? i doubt it because as i have already said i keep it well protected from the weather

Any advice on the subject please

Could be the weather or lower temperature now that it's getting colder. Can you remove the monitor (I'm guessing you can't but might be worth trying it indoors)?
What do you need to monitor? Calories burnt? Time spent exercising?
There are some great heart rate monitors ranging from cheap to expensive that can record your workout details. Polar are good if you're considering a HR monitor.

Probably not. There is no standard interface for the sensors that pick up how much work you are doing.

The basic problem is that they are not designed to be kept out of doors. The humidity outdoors gets very high when the weather is wet and you can't protect against that without complete air-tight seals (almost impossible on something like that). As the weather gets colder, the moist air condenses on the metal parts and they start to corrode. I'm not aware of any exercise bikes designed for permanent outdoors installation, so AFAIK the only solution is to bring it indoors - though placing it in a shed might help a bit.

So would it help if i remove the monitor and keep it indoors and leave the bike outdoors when i am not useing the Exercise bike

I reckon if you leave it outdoors you'll be waving goodbye to that monitor for sure. You've already had some warning signs.

As the temperature changes it will be sucking in any moisture around the seams. Just the humidity could screw it up.
