A costly waste maybe, but at least thus preoccupied with the permissible minimum level of graphite in an HB the Germans had forgotten about how much they'd like to occupy France again.
But wait a minute - two people I've never heard of and never been given the chance to vote for now apparently represent me in some, apparently meaningful, capacity. Because France and Germany decided so.
I am glad Blair didn't get in but Van Pompuy what? Who - a Belgian? Who is this man, who is that woman - maybe I've suddenly decided I dont want the Germans deciding what pencils I can buy either.
I suspect a lot of people in the EU who've been sleeping through this will suddenly wake up and realise they feel the same.
I've never cared much about the EU project before, as it seemed like a mostly benign behemoth, bovinely chewing its way through the cud of tonnes of bureaucracy and regulations about how long a pencil can be.Herman Van Rompuy and Lady Ashton chosen to lead EU
British peer says she will show she is the best person for the job of European foreign minister over the next few months and years.

current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
Did they not limit how bent a banana could be.
Can anyone give an honest answer to this question.
What beneficial things does the EU bring or would most member states actually be better of without it and just lending money to poorer nations.
Basically is it like Robin Hood stealing a Pie from the rich, eating half of it then giving the other half to someone hungry people (poor nations)?0 -
I'm not worried about it being to our advantage - I'm more concerned about it being democratic. It seems absurd to me to be sending young men and women over to godsforsaken waste lands to supposedly try and propagate democracy amongst people who mostly just want to kill them - and then sign up for this farce over here.0
