Ivanopinion. I shut the computer down as one should do but will do a full disc scan shortly.0 -
Have you tried Method 3 in that MS page?Sillychuckie wrote:Well, there is nothing in the scheduled tasks whatsoever.

Yep, no obvious problems reported with the disc..Chippy_Minton wrote:Have you tried Method 3 in that MS page?
When booting up, after disabling the splash screen, I now see the following:
- Usual bios stuff loads
- Drivers being loaded flash past the screen, takes a few seconds
- A blue screen pops up that simply says:
"Microsoft (R) Windows (R) Version 5.1 (Build 2600 SP 2)
1 System processor (511mb memoroy)."
It stays on this screen for approx 5 minutes whilst chugging away in the background.
- It then jumps to a black screen that says:
"Checking file system
Volume C is clean.
Checking file system
Volume D is clean.
Windows has finished checking the disc".
It then stays on this for approx 5 minutes whilst chugging away in the background.
- It then loads a blue screen, and over the following few minutes slowly populates the login screen.
The slow population of the login screen is because its a slow PC, but its really the 2 periods of 5 minutes before that I wan't to try and reduce.
The discs seem ok... so not too sure what is going on.0 -
