Like I already said £189 for an Ipod Nano in their so-called 'sale' and £229 now at their 'normal' price when the RRP is £179!!!!!!!

I tried to get the Bradford store to knock £50 off a digital camera that I had seen cheaper on Amazon last week, but they wouldn't. I printed out the page off Amazon and everything, to show I wasn't making it up. Jessops lost my custom altogether because they wouldn't price match.

They will only match other UK photography companies. Places like Pixmania will not work because they started in France or Netherlands first (cant remember) and Amazon which isnt a photography company.

The jessops price match policy is limited compared to others but there is nothing stopping you from just haggling and see what the manager says.

I think looking for "codes" and buying online using cashback sites on top could be the way forward.

I have had some really bad experiences with this company managing to lose memory cards and pictures.
  • After reading the above posts I am now worried. I bought a sony handycam dcr-pc55e yesterday for £299. I know it is slightly out of date but I still haven't managed to find any cheaper on the internet and I have it with 30 days refund if not happy. What is your advice. It is going perfectly and came with 2 year guarantee? It seems to have been the only one left in the shop as manager said it was overlooked when they were getting rid of stock. Original price was £499 or so she said! It was either this or a canon mv930 for £250. What should I do? Keep it or swap it or get a full refund?:o

I think £299 is a good price for this camcorder, relative to what it once cost - Jessops is not making that up. Just look at these prices....

But you might want to read this review before deciding whether or not to keep it...

I've also read bad things about audible motor noise on the Canon MV9?? series that gets captured on the recordings. Have a look at the camcorder threads on AVForums here (may need to register for free)....

Here's a specific thread about the problem....
