Outsourcing a function doesn't make a company any less accountable - and it really annoys me when companies try to hide behind that excuse!0 -

Complain and hopefully FD will complain to their supplier so that it doesn't happen again.
If they employ the company it is their fault.
When I get a minute, I will probably close account anyway.
FD are nothing special at all.0 -
fine, i think if you go through these forums though you'll find a lot more complaints about other banks compared to first direct.

Why are you still getting paper statements if you have a PC?
I turned mine off straight away.
I agree that you'll be hard pushed to find another bank as good as First Direct."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
They are an absolute joke if you ask me. The rates are awful and except for answering you call straight away - they put you on hold to find out how to process any of queries or even to do simple transactions. They also are being left behind with cutting edge stuff like the NatWest iPhone app.0

I've never been put on hold for straightforward requests. As for poor rates, they are paying me 7% on a regular ISA and 5% on a regular saver.0

I understand that First Direct are usually quite good at adopting new technology - I seem to recall they once did video banking.. in fact they were the first UK bank to reformat their site for the iphone in 2007 and launched what they describe as an iPhone application in February.
I also think the Monilink app will shortly be enabled for HSBC and First Direct accounts
