E-On chasing for payment already made?!

Hi guys,
I've been getting phone calls from E-On chasing a payment made in April? They are saying that they aren't sure it was me that made the payment, and they want proof of payment, like a bank statement or a receipt. Is this normal?
I mean, its *eight* months since I made the payment, why the bleep are they chasing it now? Its so frustrating, I thought I'd finished dealing with these muppets.
Thank all

You sure it's them ? Those docs would be awful handy for an ID theif.
ask them to write to you about this to be sure.

Hi Keeley_p,
I would ask E.ON why this has only come to light now, it should have been picked up before now.
You could just send the info E.ON require with your personal details blanked out.
It may be that your payment was allocated to an incorrect account and they need the proof to ensure this can be transferred to your account.
Or your payment may have been sitting waiting to be allocated to an account, if there were no account details attached to it, this could also be a reason for it taking so long.
The only way to know for sure, is to ask.
How did you pay the final bill?

I paid it on my debit card, the same way I always did.
Thanks for getting back to me, its been really stressing me out!"Organising a wedding is like colouring in at age 4. There's lots of different ways to do it, but everyone will love the way you do it because they love you"Student Loans: £19474.62:eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
No problem at all, try not to worry, you will have record of the payment from your debit card, so you can provide that if needs be.
