Weatherseal you advice appreciated

sorry this is long....

Me and my neighbour endured 4 hours of a weatherseal salesman in her house selling us both 7 windows and 2 doors. We got him from £17k to £5k, great deal we thought as we also had 6 months to pay it in if we wanted the interest free option (which really appeals to me as I hate paying interest).

That was back in June.

I went to pay it last weekend with a new credit card I got for 0% on purchases only to be told that there is interest on the account and I would be charged 3% for using a credit card! I said no that I was on the interest free option for the first six months and I was never told there would be an additional charge for using a credit card. The girl at the finance company had never heard of such an option. I said I would leave it and speak to Weatherseal direct as there was obviously a mistake.

I went in and told my neighbour who also phoned the finance company and was told that she too would have to pay interest.


I phoned Weatherseal and they said they have never offered anything like that and that we had signed the agreement and have nothing in writing about an interest free option. I said that I feel I have been duped, that I definately was offered that and I have been mis-sold and I would be going to the ombisman, he said fine as I dont have a leg to stand on as I have nothing in writing.

I am so angry, I am an intelligent woman and I have been told things just to get me to sign. I am a single parent and my neighbour is a pensioner on her own. I think it is a disgrace that the salesman has used any means to get the sale.

Is there anything I can do? I will need to pay it asap as I do not want to be paying more interest than I have to (considering I did not think I would be paying any or the additional charge of £150 for using my credit card.

Hi Wee_den,

I was wondering if you ever got this sorted out. I got a 0% finance for 4 years agreed with them in Nov and am still trying to get an install date. They never return your calls. The contracted installers say the roofline contract was cancelled by weatherseal 7 days after I signed but the windows are coming next week?? I really don't trust these people.
