house spilt with iva HELP ME
hi, just spilt from my wife...
we're in a joint IVA but i'm at a loss, i don't want to go bankrupt but i don't know how to spilt this all up ie,
1, can they spilt it (my debt-her debts???)
2, can they keep themselves of my doorstep???
also their due a payment tomorrow but i have no child benefit, no tax credits and no income support...
basically my wife left me last month, she left me with my three children, i have had to apply (new claim) for child benefit
income support will not give me a penny till i have the child benefit coming through and a letter proving it
and on top of all of this tax credits keep saying "we need birth certificatees and to wait for a form to get to me" (apparently sent saturday just gone) and that i've gotta send them back
so the truth is i'm struggling and i'm scared i will not have anything coming in before christmas
please help me on IVA advice and any help on how i can survive

I would always recommend that you first contact your IP or case administrator ASAP and explain your change in circumstances (always back this up with a letter and up to date Income and Expenditure to show the drop in household income). The sooner they know of your circumstances, the quicker they can help you.
Request what options are available to you under the current IVA and your IP should be able review your case, and go through these options with you.
I dont know what you and your wife were offering under the IVA but there may be chance of you requesting the following:- A payment holiday to allow you time to get yourself financial sorted, and commence contributions at the level they are now. (the IVA will be extended to cover the missed months from the payment holiday).
- A reduced contribution over the remaining term of the arrangement, subject to income and expenditure reviews.
