Hi, I just needed reassurance, we missed a phone call from our Estate agent earlier - they didn't call any of the other numbers they have for us, and the message just said to call them. (It was 5.24pm - they shut at 5.30pm).
We are in the process of selling our house. We have been in this position before, then the buyer pulled out due to the house being underpinned. The new buyers know all about it, and aren't bothered, they also have a mortgage approved. But because the previous time the Estate agents contacted us was to tell us the buyer had pulled out, my OH is convinced that this will happen again.
Basically I just need to reassure him it could be about something else. So please tell me that is true, and give me some suggestions as to why they would have called?

Are you due to renew your contract or anything? My guess is if they called so late it can't be all that urgent, especially if they did not call your main number. Forget about it until tomorrow at any rate, until you know more!
Eager - the OP is selling her house, so this is not a rental question.
Choco - there are 101 possible reasons for the call. 93 of them perfectly innocent. Stop worrying and call them in the morning.0 -
Perhaps your buyer wants to view again. That's what it normally is.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

yeah no point speculating- call them tomorrow. i'm intrigued... let us know how u get on!0

Yes - lots and lots of possible reasons why they called, the great majority of them unworrying to the point of dullness and almost all of them less bad than the buyer pulling out. If it was something urgent - or the buyer had pulled out - you'd have hoped that the EA would have called your mobile even if it meant working 5mins late!
Try to relax. None of us can tell you for sure that it's not something very bad, but it's much more likely to be something boring or mildly irritating.0 -
Have you spoken to them now?0

Just got off the phone, it was only a query about the fixtures and fittings list. Phew! Thanks for all the reassurance, it really helped.0

Perhaps your buyer's head exploded in a freak accident.Been away for a while.0
