A cynic would wonder if she has swapped the bigger cardigan for the older smaller one.... be interesting to see if it comes back with the tag intact.

Would you be able to ask her if she is willing to email you a photo of them both side by side as that is the easiest and fairest way to see?

I'd then say if it has been labelled wrongly, that of course you'll refund in full on it's return.

I'm too tired to think of how to word it all so it comes across as polite, but Im sure others can!!
  • Thanks for all the advice everyone. Lucyxx, that is a good idea and I'm really annoyed I didn't think of it - I told her through the PayPal resolution centre that if she sent it back, I would give her a full refund, but not pay for her return postage. I asked her to send it back recorded delivery - which she didn't seem pleased about, but I don't want any more issues. I didn't want to drag it out, and couldn't help feeling slightly sympathetic as it was for her kid and was quite an expensive cardigan.

Can someone tell me - if there is a problem with an item and it goes through PayPal and it gets sorted out, and the buyer still leaves a negative feedback, are you able to get it removed? I think I might have read/heard that somewhere but don't know for sure. Also, how do I reverse the fees that Ebay/Paypal charged me for selling/listing (please tell me I can do this?!)

The other thing has wound me up is that I won an item yesterday that I had bid on before all this - and now PayPal won't let me pay for it because of the negative balance. I've messaged the seller and transferred funds from my band account into PayPal- but that will take over a week to process. I'd be fed up if it was me - and they can file me as a non paying bidder now as well if they want! Though I am selling some bits today, so hopefully they'll sell for enough and be paid for quick!

What a lot of hassle to sell a kid's cardigan! And sorry if I'm ranting!

Personally I would have carried on with the dispute, and phoned up paypal, explaining to them that the item was EXACTLY as described. They probably would have sided with you on this one, as it's quite clear cut on a tagged item. Perhaps phone them up now?

You won't be able to get a neg removed. Just reply calmly to it (no capital letters) stating item exactly as described as it was a tagged item.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

If they don't send it recorded, paypal have no reason to believe you received the item, as the buyer would have no tracking no to put into paypal. So no refund.

That is assuming of course that seller is dishonest and is prepared to lie and say that they did not get the item back. I think you'll find most of us sellers on here are honest enough to admit when we get an item safely returned.
