Just bought a new blade for my flymo off ebay and the instructions i have with my flymo arent very clear on how to fit the blade.
The blade has ' this side facing' printed on it, now does that mean this side facing me or facing the base of the mower ?
can anyone help ?
thanks

Fit it, turn it on, look at which way the blade is spinning, if the sharp side is spinning forwards then you've fitted it the right way. I think it spins clockwise, but I'm not 100%0

Thanks for the reply, i guessed i could do that but didnt fancy risking loosing some fingers !
Will try that, unless someone can tell me how to fit the blade correctly
thanks0 -
If you don't feel confident doing that without losing any fingers then perhaps you shouldn't be using an electrical appliance full stop.

I'm not suggesting you tape the handle in the on position, then stick your hand under to feel which way they're turning
Flick it on for a split second, then tip it on it's side and watch the blade gently come to a stop.0 -
The sharp side will spin the correct way as there is a sharp side on either end of the blade at oposite sides, i wanted to know if the sharp edge should be facing me or facing the mower ?
The blade has ' this side faceing' , i just wanted to know if its faceing out or facing in ?0 -
You made me doubt myself there, but it won't, only one way is correct. I just tested it using my rulerJon_S wrote:The sharp side will spin the correct way as there is a sharp side on either end of the blade at oposite sides, i
