Liverpool Victoria CC taken over by Morgan Stanley

Hi

I have a Liverpool Victoria(LV) credit card. Liverpool Victoria, I believe, have sold their credit card division to Morgan Stanley.

Like me, there must be hundreds of other members on this forum who have a LV credit card. Would love to hear from other members whether they intend keeping the LV credit card or return it as the LV credit card has now been taken over by Morgan Stanley.

Just wondering what will be the advantages vs disadvantages of keeping the LV credit card now that it is under new management(Morgan Stanley)?

I had a LV CSMA Photo Card - replaced by a Chip & Signature card after I sent back by Chip & PIN card.

The photo card was invaluable when abroad. Never once was I asked for additional identification when using the card, I could leave my passport and driving license in the hotel safe.

I hope Morgan Stanley will look at issuing photo Chip & PIN or phot Chip & Signature cards.

I'm having a hard time finding info on this happening, can you tell me how you know this is happening?

Wasn't the LV card one of the 'cheapies' for buying stuff in Euros or Dollars (next best to Nationwide) - worth checking this bit out.

Yes - LV didn't have a fee for transactions abroad. No doubt this will soon end when Morgan Stanley complete the takeover.

Not so! The 2.75% loading, not used by frizzell, will NOT be used by the new crowd either. It says so in the blurb frizzell card holders have received, but I confirmed it again by phone today when I called about some other aspects.

I'd like to think that when the change takes place, that there may be some opening offers to try to encourage existing holders to stay put - like a nice long 0% BT facility with no fee! But maybe not.

Be careful LV was OK for outside Europe transactions but they changed & they are like the rest you get charged 2.5% circa so I hardly use them; just went to Nationwide and found it easy to set up a/c + debit card which I will use for foreign transactions

    Sorry about that folks!

I did know that Frizell charged the extra outside Europe and should have made that clear. Having said that, I'm led to believe that MS won't charge in Europe either.
