People Awaiting DWP Response From Interviews Attended

    I'm sorry to say this but you will be in for a long wait. I have only recently started with them and I had a 4 month wait from success letter to actually starting the job. This wasn't helped by the fact that there was a national recruitment freeze while I was waiting, but I think this freeze doesn't affect London. I didn't actually get the job in the office I applied for in the end as they decided after the recruitment freeze was lifted that they now didn't need any more staff. However this worked out better for me as the position they did offer me is a lot closer to home (like 2 hours less commuting each day)

    So far the job is very good so if you do get in I think you will enjoy it, but my advice would be to keep looking for other jobs while you wait as you could be in for a long one.

    If you are after civil service jobs, there is a website called http://www.civilservice.gov.uk/jobs/ which I found very useful. Also, the DWP waiting list thread on MSE is very useful and full of people in/previously in the same position as you who may have useful info/phone numbers etc.

    Its not always the case that it takes for ever.

    I had my tests and interviews on the 23rd October and started on the 7th December.

    It really is dependant on how long it takes for your CRB checks, as soon as they are done they pass your details onto the relevant recruiting manager.

    Mainly EO roles.

    Have to be honest, applied for a few...so far;

    IRC 62979 - AO
    IRC 63183 - HEO
    IRC 63908 - EO
    IRC 64174 - EO
    IRC 64178 - AO
    IRC 64221 - EO
    IRC 64225 - AO
    I got a letter from dwp saying that I was successful at the interview (IRC 64178 AO)and have been placed on a waiting list. Please how do I find out my position on this list? I pray it will not be a very long wait. Still waiting for IRC 64174 EO & 63745 EO.
  • I had my interview on 13th July for an EO role in Milton Keynes and I was told that I was successful. All refs and Disclosure done but still no start date ! It is just ridiculous but it does test your patience ! x :confused:
