People Awaiting DWP Response From Interviews Attended

I went for a test and interview (as I passed the tests and the interview was straight after) for an Administrative Officer on the 20th Oct and I am still waiting for them to get back to me!

I kept calling last week but all I was told was that I had to wait for all applicants to be seen before any information would be given out!!

Anyone else in the same boat? Or has anyone else had this experience?

A quick look down the page and you would have found this

Edited to add: sorry, didn't really read it properly! If someone asked for the date to be changed or phoned to say they couldn't make it they have ot wait until everybody has been interviewed as they say

No worries, there are plenty of helpful people on here!

As well as many in the same boat as yourself, what IRC was the job?

To be honest, I have applied for so many I'm not quite sure.

I had my tests and interview in Borough (London) on the 20th Oct. I know it was for an AO position.

Just before I did my interview all of us (who passed the tests) had to fill in loads and loads of forms, there was 1 which asked my preffered location. It was all London areas.

I recently applied for an EO postion which ended 4th Nov and I am yet to still hear about that one!

I've just finished working as a volunteer for an MP Party so I would really appreciate a Civil Service job. I've been looking on other sites too but I really want the DWP one (even though I heard it is the one of the most worst government run departments in the UK)

    Are you awaiting any? x

    IRC 64221 - EO
    IRC 64225 - AO

Any news on IRC 63745 and 64174?
  • I'm sorry to say this but you will be in for a long wait. I have only recently started with them and I had a 4 month wait from success letter to actually starting the job. This wasn't helped by the fact that there was a national recruitment freeze while I was waiting, but I think this freeze doesn't affect London. I didn't actually get the job in the office I applied for in the end as they decided after the recruitment freeze was lifted that they now didn't need any more staff. However this worked out better for me as the position they did offer me is a lot closer to home (like 2 hours less commuting each day)

So far the job is very good so if you do get in I think you will enjoy it, but my advice would be to keep looking for other jobs while you wait as you could be in for a long one.

If you are after civil service jobs, there is a website called http://www.civilservice.gov.uk/jobs/ which I found very useful. Also, the DWP waiting list thread on MSE is very useful and full of people in/previously in the same position as you who may have useful info/phone numbers etc.
