Aventis Sterilisers

Both mine had thrush on their tongues and it does take a while to go... but the most important thing is to make sure that Mum's nipples are being treated for it too, or baby will never get rid of it whilst still breast feeding..... you can also use yoghurt to sooth the skin with thrush (obviously just applied and not fed to baby).....
I used an Avent stem steriliser and had no problems apart from an occasional need to descale it.....
Have fun!:D0 -

Owch - I had thrush in the breast last time - it can really hurt so lots of sympathy coming your way. Hopefully the Dr knows what he's on about and little one will be botty beautiful any day now. We have a bit of a black market in hydrocortzone round here - the Drs are really reluctant to prescribe it. Hope it does the trick.0

a black market in hydrocortisone? wow, that's really intrigued me :rotfl: i get it on scrip for myself, 9 year old and ten month old. it's wonderful in the short term, when the rash is too bad for anything else to work. my favourite cream is lane's tea tree, a pharmacist can order it in if they don't stock it.
as for sterilisers, i have 2 - a tommee tippee microwave one (that can also be used with cold water and milton if you so desire). it cost £11.99 from wilkinsons, included a few bottles, a brush etc. but i don't like the bottles, i prefer avent bottles but i use tommee tippee nuby teats. have you already chosen bottles? if not you might be interested in the new one that's breast shaped but i haven't tried it myself http://www.tommeetippee.co.uk/shop/product.php?productid=11&cat=8&page=1
i also have a tommee tippee steam steriliser, we needed a steam one for a holiday away with no microwave, i personally don't like cold water sterilising, hate the smell of milton. we have used the steam one twice, for holidays, much prefer the microwave one. it only holds 4 bottles though, or 6 if you use the thin type, but i use the wider anti-colic type.52% tight0
