I had a leak in my kitchen.I t was coming from behind the sink unit and caused damage to the floor, cracked tiles. Insurance surveyor came and noticed my stairs have moved away from the floor. My kitchen units on 1 side of the kitchen have also moved but i thought this was just a sign we needed a new kitchen. There are no cracks in any walls or any noticeable damage anywhere else apart from the kitchen floor. Does this sound like subsidence ???????????

How old is your house? Not Again0

house was built around 1900 and the surveyor is sending a report to insurance, he said they will have to send a structural engineer to do another report0

If its that old it could be subsidence.
Not a lot else it can be other than some other failure in a wall or floor.
Maybe rotting joists..Not Again0 -
the thing is though there are no other noticeable signs of damage anywhere else in the house, cracks in walls etc, it just looks likes the floor is sinking in the middle of the kitchen/dining room0

If the floor support is wood it could be rotting but in any case you have a structural engineer coming..Not Again0
