Avoiding mould without putting the heating on?

You should probably heat the place too TBH. Are you planning on leaving the heating off all winter? Do you have a fire?
Dehumidifiers are great but cost money to run so it may not be much of a saving (plus with heat you get to feel the benefits!).
HTH.
They cost MUCH less than heating though. And dry air is more comfortable and pleasant.
Plus, having heating on isn't actually a solution, as when it's off at night or when you're not there, the temperature drops and the water vapour still present will condense.
Although, having that, central heating does dry the air out, so if you have it on a lot, it'll probably stay on top of things via inadvertently dehumidifying.0 -
