Am just after a bit of help before I start, I took out a loan with Nationwide a few years back and was paying PPI insurance. Then I paid the loan off, so what I would like to know is can i claim back my PPI even though I paid it off. And second thing is if I can, do I send a SAR to them first as I don't have any paperwork.
Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome.;)
Yes you can still reclaim on the PPI, it makes no difference if settled or active.
If you no paperwork then a SAR may be a good idea, but just as long as you have the account number that applies to the loan, that is fine.

Right, a suggestion:
Depending on how long ago you paid this off, if you repaid the monthly repayments out of your own bank account, then this should allow you if you bank online - to go back as far as 5/6 years statements.
The account number of your loan would be shown or should be shown next to the monthly loan repayments.
Or if you have any old paper bank statements, same here.
Or when requesting a SAR, give them as many details as possible, in order for them to track down your information on your account you held with them.
Such as any different addresses at the time, surnames, and also write your date of birth, hope this helps.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
