Seller no longer registered

Bought an antivirus software yesterday and paid by paypal. Got confirmation of transaction completed by paypal. Today I got an email from e-bay telling me that I need not complete the transaction as the seller is not longer registered. Does that mean I have lost my money? Thanks

Not necessarily.
ebay often NARU people temporarily for various technicalities.0 -
I'd send the seller and quick email just to confirm the transaction. If not you could always do a paypal chargeback but i wiould definately give the seller time to confirm the transaction. I imagine that selling software would be a minefield with being NARU'ed.0

Does the amount you paid reflect a genuine copy of the antivirus?
(In other words... are you dealing with a 'solid' seller, or a pirate-selling scumbag?)My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I have sent the seller a quick e-mail and he has not get back to me. He is supposed to send the good within 24 hrs by recorded delivery. I was not aware that you could buy a pirated antivirus software. Will wait a bit longer and then do a chargeback through paypal. Thanks0

most anti viruses have 6-12month subscriptions which are tied to a cdkey
there is a remote possibility that it could be a cd with the antivirus installer (downloaded legally from the site) with a legit cdkey (fake ones wont work properly ie no updates).
if this is the case it doesnt make the seller a pirate but i think its against ebay rules to sell this way (selling cd keys) maybe why they are naru0 -
why pay when you can http://free.grisoft.com ? :beer:In the United Kingdom 200,000 people are bitten by dogs every year and some people will die as a result. Of those bitten, 70% are children... So the question has to be asked....... Has the time come to ban children?0

Seems a lot of sellers are selling loads of antivirus software at a bargain price. Surely they cannot all be downloaded with a legit key. Please check under Pc-cillin Internet security suite 2006 and see what you think!! They are being sold again I think by the same seller under a different username. Did received my cd promptly with a license key for 12 months updates. Will not know for sure it works as it will not be needed for a couple of months. The seller seems very nice and always ask question promptly. Thanks for suggesting free grisoft, will consider it as well and I can have 2 yrs free antivirus software from Barclays bank as well. You know when you are used to a product, you tend to stick with it. Thanks0

They are downloaded with a hack key, not legit but makes it work. Still illegal, hence why this sellers probably been removed from ebay. Sometimes they are a professional copy with several/unlimited licence, but they are not mean't to sell it on. Any software that is very cheap I think I would pressume is a copy not an original. One day I might be more organised...........

Thanks, I am learning I was not aware you could copy antivirus software with a license key. I think, it is a copy as it comes in a paper sleeve. I did buy one from e-bay fairly cheap last year and it came with the proper packing and appear orginal. I do hope it works, will have to be more careful in future, also he is gone private, looks a bit doggy to me. Do you think the one I bought will work as I said before will not be needing it until later? Thanks0
