  • Starting this diary over again as last year I failed miserable in quite afew areas of my life. Like everything else I started with good intentions but after afew months I failed miserably. So after giving myself a massive boot up the backside heres my list of this years things to do (in no particular order as of yet)

    1. Prioritise my debts and try to snowball
    2. Sort out pile of bills
    3. Get the clutter shifted from my life
    4. Organise my home
    5. Try to keep on top of washing/ironing
    6. Keep on top of housework
    7. Quit the ciggys (again!)
    8. Save loose change
    9. Keep a spending diary
    10. No take aways coz i couldnt be bothered to cook
    11. Try to meal plan (and stick to it!!!)
    12. Live within my means!
    13. Start divorce proceedings
    14. Do more with the kids
I also need to learn how to say no to my children, sounds bizaare I know but they get more or less everything they ask for (within reason)I dont know why I do this, I think I feel quilty that me and their dad split up which made them unhappy so I spoilt them the only way I knew how. Its going to be difficult but its something I need to do.

Anyway ive waffled enough, this diary is just going to contain random posts of what ive been up to, what chores ive done, if any debts have been paid, favourite recipies and probably meal plans.

Hi there.....I could have written that same list for the year:rotfl:
Some I already do....meal planning is the way to go, I love it:p
I am a single mum of 2 girls, 12 and 10....my ex has just started divorce proceedings...as of yesterday:beer: We've been separated nearly 3 years, he's a big waste of space so can't wait to be rid - I just wasn't paying, now he's doing it!

My spending is great at the moment as I'm signed off work for 2 weeks (have Crohn's disease which is playing me up, waiting for appt to have an op)...so not been going out, all I've spent is on the Tesco shop. The snow helps too....really happy to stay in the house:o

Anyway...good luck with it all, I'll be reading as you go:D
I really need to sort out a new signature!
  • Hi Millyscarlett

thanks for your reply. Good luck with your Op hope you get an appointment soon, great on the No spends too x

Im just keeping this diary so I can give myself something to focus on as I always seem to be busy doing....well nothing in particular if you know what i mean.
Im off work this week so need to get stuck in but as of yet ive been pretty useless although I have degrotted the lounge and sorted out all the cupboards, washed the soft furnishings and mopped the floor, done both bathrooms and hall/stairs/landing, ive stripped my bed and thats in the washer as we speak, made sausage casserole for dinner tonight (slow cooker so bung it in and leave it to do its thing) so suppose its a start. but still have mountains and mountains of washing/drying/ironing to do i do desperatley need to get a grip and get on top of it

  • I forgot all about my diary so I'm starting my ramblings again just to try to keep me on track.
Since my last entry I'm delighted to say i am now debt free which was bloody hard going but well worth it. My downfall now is food shopping, I need to get this under control. I have joined the Grocery Challenge and set myself £400 per month but failed miserably in April and spent a whopping £596.31, on what I haven't got a clue, the fridge freezer and cupboards are not bulging at the seems and look very very sparse.

I have done my meal plan and I AM going to stick to it and I WILL NOT spend money on carp!!!
