eBay searching - Best Match

I'm sure it used to list search results from time ending soonest but now it is Best Match, how does it decide what order to list things in?
I'm selling some stuff at the moment and although using the same keywords in my title as others - why are they coming higher on the search results than mine?

They probably have a better selling record than yours over all - its a drop down list so you can easily change from best match to ending soonest or nearest to me etc.
:beer:As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0 -

:beer:I do always change it when i'm searching myself, but i guess a lot of buyers might not notice that bit and just look at the list as it comes.
I've not got the 10 DSR's yet cos i did most of my selling before that came in, is there anyway to see how many DSR's i've had?0 -
In my experience, you come top of the search for a number of reasons but these include, Top Rated Seller status, volume of that item sold, free postage, high compliance.0
