Extras for new house

We are moving into a new house in 3 weeks, and we have only just been qouted for carpets, vinyl flooring in wet rooms and kitchen, and 2 fitted wardrobes in the master bedroom which only come with rails. The carpets are of the lowest grade offered. Now I have no idea on pricing and so don't know whether I am being ripped off or not, the house builders have said they need to know today what we want!!!! Therefore I'm panicking as would have prefered to get qoutes from other companies to see if reasonable?

I do not know the dimensions of my house to hand, but to give an idea it is a four bedroomed house on 3 floors and the qoutes are as follows:

Carpets £3,200
Vinyl flooring (2 en suites, bathroom, toilet, and kitchen) £1,125
Laminate flooring for hallway £235
Fitted wardrobes £1,900

Any advice on what I should do?

Get more quotes.

You can do 90m2 of house for 700 quid on the cheapest carpet and vinyl.

Wet rooms need proper tiled flooring don't they?

Just moved into new build myself.... 4 bed over three floors... I think 1800 sq ft....

Carpet for stairs landing L/R all bedrooms.. £2400 (40 oz middle grade)

I think the carpet sounds expensive.. but I dont know what grade they have quoted...

The rest sounds resonable..

Just to say you could try posting this in the "In my home" section of the forum, you might get more builders etc in there.
