Ok, I'm posting this on behalf of a work colleague. She has just moved into a bungalow and needs to buy a new cooker. She wants a free standing dual fuel cooker (so gas hob and electric fan oven) with a lid that pulls down to cover the gas hob whe not in use giving her extra workspace, she's had a look on the internet but can't find any that fit the gap she has which is 54cm. Does anyone have any recommendations for ones to look at - she also doesn't want to spend a huge amount she's wondering if she can find one for around £300.
Banana Lovers
Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning

That's an odd size. Cookers tend to come in 50, 55 and 60cm widths. I think Cannon used to do a cooker at 535mm (the Stratford?) ... but I think it was gas and they don't make it anymore.
She could try looking for a second hand one?
If she goes for a 500mm cooker - she's going to have big gaps each side.I write blogs about kitchens ... and I design kitchens for a living ... I just love kitchens!0
