Any Advice?

Dear All,
I started working as an long-term temp Administration Officer for an organization through Hays Recruitment. I've been given 2 weeks notice (so I'll be made redundant on 27 November). My wife works as a permenant Administration Officer for a school. She earns £18,500 per annum. We started renting which is £650 a month. We have car insurance which is currently £69 a month (until I tell them I'm unemployed) and other bills such as internet, water & electricity bills. I feel quite stressed at the moment. I tried applying for Job Seekers allowance but was told I can't claim until the day I leave work. Will we be entitled to council tax benefit & housing benefit? Will we be entitled to anything else? I would appreciate any help given.

My advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.

I found it really useful to put my details/amounts into entitledto dot com, and it gives a pretty accurate (if not spot on) quote of what you might expect to get.0
