Water Pressure

We have just fitted my nan, who is 86, new taps with a shower attachment to make things easier for her to have a bath but the water pressure is so low the shower part won't work??? How can we make the pressure better? We don't mind paying because its important for her independence.
Thanks

Talk to a plumber about fitting a pump, that will improve the presure and flow rate considerably.

Have you by chance used flexible hoses including isolation valves to connect the tap, or are there isolation valves on the pipework to the tap. If so, these valves are not usually of the full flow variety and can therefore restrict the water flow enough to make the shower attachment useless.

The best setup is to use 22mm pipes with straight forward 22mm tap connectors and to make sure any isolation valves are full flow, i.e. the bore through the valve is also 22mm.

    Good luck!

Forgot to mention, for a shower attachment to work effectively you normally need a head of water in the region of 10-12 feet. This is normally the case in a house where the cold water tank feeding the bathroom is in the loft and the bathroom is upstairs, but may not be the case in a flat.
