Nationwide Credit Card (1st Card)

Just chose the N/W Classic Card as my first credit card. Wont be spending much each month and should be paying the balance off in full using a direct debit. Could anyone tell me if this card is decent and any advice or info on this card as well.

Thanks everyone in advance!

What is 'decent' credit card? APR doesn't matter if you pay the balance in full every month.
For regular spending in UK it is better to use some cashback or rewards card. See links in the blue box above.
If you don't have a lot of credit history and don't have a current account with Nationwide you are likely to be refused as they are known to be 'choosy'. Wasted credit search will reduce your chances with further applications. For the first credit card it is advised to apply to the bank you have your current account with.

As hinted at by Grumbler, Nationwide is a great card for overseas spending. That's why I have one, but otherwise I don't use it. If you intend to spend overseas, then it's defo worth having.

The majority of cards will be 'decent' as long as you pay the balance of each month. However I think the main benefit of the Nationwide is the cheaper costs it will give you if you use it abroad. If you want more than just a bog standard card, you may also look at either cash back/rewards cards or 0 % spending/balance transfer cards which actually reward you/allow you to make money just by doing nothing more than making your normal monthly spending on them
