If you receive an official looking letter from Business Internet Directory WATCH OUT!! They give the impression that they are listing all businesses on the internet. Their letter says that it is important that you need to confirm your business entry by phoning their 0870 number.....on the back of the letter they list their terms of business making it look like you are a customer etc! There are lots of ways of listing your website or business on the internet free of charge....this company is cheeky as they also send out reminder letters saying:
"We recently wrote to your regarding your new business details being present and correct on the national directory for UK businesses. Unfortunately we do not seem to have received a response. It is important that we categorise your business correctly, so that it can be found by millions of online customers. Please call New Registrations on 0870 240 9411 so that we may complete your listing"
Don't pay unnecessary 0870 charges without checking that you want to be listed on this website!!

Thanks for that.Slightly different but along similar lines, when I ran a business,I was approached by an organisation calling themselves the guild of master craftsmen. For a fee you could be listed by them and use their logo.I have seen several businesses who use this and thought it was a sign of quality, but my business in no way could be categorized as a craft so it shows you how you can buy anything.0

Guys I to was recently conned by this company cost me over £300 .
I have since found a really good site called nuneradirect.com
You can have your company listed there for FREE and FREE really means FREE. I wrote a full box of text about my company and I didnt pay them a penny;)
They do have a pay listing option but as you can tell I went for the free one0 -
I really do agree with you every day I get loads of e-mails asking for my details if you not know these companies delete or if you get a letter throw away. One thing the scammers are getting very hi-tech now the worst ones are the letters saying you have won the lottery!! Remember you don’t get anything for nothing so if it sounds too good to be true it’s properly not.
I own a business internet directory and it is a shame you get people like this who just want to scam you. So be careful out there.

Wow, fake comments or what.
And why on earth bring up a topic from 2006.....0 -
Sorry for bumping this up, but this company has been pestering my staff all day. They've called 4 members of my team. Would the "do not call" template letter work with these people, with a little editing?0
