I need some suggestions to take my family for lunch around the Thirsk area. We are coming down from North Ayrshire my daughter and her mother are coming up from Norwich this Sunday coming. We are trying to meet half way.
Is the Carlton Bore in Thirsk any good?
Open to suggestions and perhaps slightly more formal than a pub (eg perhaps a set table)

The Kings Head, Market Square, Masham.

Eat in the bar by the roaring fire, or in the restuarant. Fab atmosphere and great locally sourced food.
Be there spot on 12 as it gets busy and the bar will be mobbed by 1 o'clock, restuarant less so. You can walk lunch off with a stroll around the "town" and perhaps drop in at the Black Sheep or Theakstons breweries for a look around.0 -
