My step-dad passed away very suddenly on Tuesday evening, he did make a will years ago when he was with his first wife and as far as we know it has never been changed.
We do not have the foggiest idea where the will is or the whereabouts of his first wife, they divorced 33 yrs ago, he's been married to my mum for 29 years.
Can anyone please advise as we have no idea where to start and what the procudure is.
I will add that truthfully there is nothing of any value, they didnt own their own home and dad was registered disabled for many years.
There is no private pension or insurance, no assets or anything.
Any help would be extremely appriciated.

im sorry for you loss.
Im almost positive that any will he made before he married your mum will be nul and void and as his wife she is intitled to the first £125.000 of the estate0 -

What is the critera for a will to be deemed null & voidThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I agree, I'm pretty sure that when you marry any will featuring previous wife is no longer valid - it would only be so if he chose to name the ex wife in a will prepared after the second marriage.0

i just checked a marriage does invalidate a will made before0

Sending PMs containing information rather invalidates the purpose of a forum, don't you think?0
