Don't usually complain but got £400 off B&Q - anybody else had complaint success?

Options
I contracted with B & Q for a bathroom installation. It went wrong. I complained.

Today received a cheque for £436.00. Lesson learnt: it is worth complaining.

Have any of you had success complaining versus national companies?

I got a new fridge from B+Q the other week, has a extremely small dent on the side and they refunded 10% without fuss, you cant see it anyway as its up against the wall.

I never honestly complain but one day I was really tired and at work, I bought a microwave meal from a co-op on the way to work 'cus I was in a rush. I put it in the microwave for the time it said for the right type of microwave and it burned, I was really annoyed as I couldn't get anything else at the time. SO I was left without food for AGES! So I rang the co-op up and complained. I got a 5 pound voucher sent through the door lol! Still haven't used it

You've just reminded me of this complaint made to Asda regarding a pizza with no topping...;)

Hi there seems to be a lot of complaining things going round at the moment!!..there was that lady on the news yesterday in the daily mail as britains best complainer or something like that..she makes a living out of it apparantly!

I have one running with Currys at the mo..i usually have a moan then drop it but not this time..i am so wound up so i'm still going with it determined this time to get it sorted out!

I complained to Asda when a jar of their lasagne sauce wouldn't open, after a few attempts it shattered and glass everywhere, not only was it dangerous but a poor old lady etc wouldn't have had a hope..they sent me a £5 gift card which was nice of them!

Always take pics is my advice! and well done with your bathroom, think my friend has had similar with her new kitchen disaster from B&Q!!

I dont complain about small things but if something avoidable happens which I hold the other person liable for then I dont let it go. some things are worth fighting for, others are not. Pick your battles and all that

Life's too short to complain about everything :)
