Evening all,
I'm hoping I've put this in the right place. Please can anyone recommend an outdoor wooden playcentre for the garden. I have looked at loads but am undecided as to which would be best. I would like it to have at least one swing, slide, wooden tower, possibly a glider. The more features for the money the better!! I have seen ones with wooden roofs and little picnic areas under the tower. I really like these best but they are a bit pricy. We can probably stretch the budget up to £600. My boys are aged nearly 4 and 1, I would like something that would still be suitable for them 6 years from now. I have looked usual places, Argos, B and Q, Homebase, Woolworths etc. I live in West Yorkshire if anyone has any ideas locally to me or obviously someone who can deliver. The playcentre must be wood not metal as i want it to blend in more with the garden. My husband is quite handy at DIY but with work would not have the time to build one from scratch so it must be pre cut etc.
Sorry to be so fussy!!! Hoping to hear from you soon.

do you have a costco near you ? if so they sell a fantastic playcentre , slightly over budget at about £800 but imo it is definately worth the extra outlay. quality piece of furniture"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."

Thanks albalad. I will definitely go to the Leeds store for a look. What sort of things are on the playcentre? I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks.

If it's anything like that it is brilliant. I think we must be destined to have it, you won't believe this!! I rang my husband to tell him about it, and as luck would have it he has been sent to Hunslet working today where the Leeds Costco is based. The lad he is working with has a Costco card, and they have a massive pick up truck to fit it in. How's that for good luck??? Fingers crossed they have one in stock.
I will be the best Mummy in the world!! At least for a day or so!!
Thanks again. Will let you know when/if we get it.

Rebecca, I bought mine from Dunster House. It is very solid, great value for money, and my son has played on it daily. We bought it 3 years ago (when he was 4). I see many years ahead yet. You can buy almost any combination, but make sure they have something to climb on, boys love to climb!

What I particularly liked about it, is that the swing is a proper grown up height, not one of these small height ones. I have a climbing tower, rock face, net, monkey swing and swing. I can change the monkey swing to a tyre if I want, but he has so much fun I shall just leave it as it is.

Thanks for your reply Windym. I agree boys need to climb, my youngest is a nightmare!!. My husband is going to have a look at Costco but if we have no luck there i will definitely look at ordering off of the website you recommended. I like the optional extras you can add on. Thanks again.

My husband has been to Costco. He says the playcentre there is far to big for the space we have. We do have a large garden but it is on 4 levels and although it would fit in it's designated spot there would be no room around the edges to have a safety perimeter. Will see about ording the other one.
