Well as the title suggests some people think they are saving money on things but until they think about it they aren't.
A prime example of this today is my cousin who like most of us wants to buy things at the cheapest possible price, even if it just saves a few pennies here and there, it all mounts up in the end.
Anyway she was in Tesco today and saw a cleaning product which was priced up at £1.07. In her wisdom she realised it was only 70p in Wilkinsons which she has to pass on her way home so decided to nip there to get it at the lower price.
The silly mare didn't think about the fact to park up in the Wilkinsons car park it costs a minimum of 60p so this product has now cost her £1.30, but she won't be told that she's actually paid more for it doing it that way.
Then there's the woman next door who drives a 15 mile round trip because petrol is 3p cheaper than the garage at the end of the road.

My grandparents-in-law see things on offer and buy them, then give them away to us. I keep saying it's not really a BOGOF if they are keeping the full price one and giving us the free one, but I think they just like getting the bargain in the first place!
They bought a load of Quavers crisps really cheap once even though they don't like Quavers as they just couldn't not buy them at that price. It saves us money mind, so I'm not complainingHere I go again on my own....0 -

The petrol thing is definately the one! My dad will drive miles and miles out of his way to save 1p a litre. All he ever talks about is how such and such is 1p cheaper or don't go to such and such as it's 1p dearer. Drives me mad!

Mine's the same! Wonder if it's a dad thing?! We went for a day out in the summer and before we left we had to drive ten minutes in the other direction, get petrol and drive back past our house again to go on our way :rolleyes:Sealed Pot Challenge Number 1225

My MIL is a bit like that. She once bought a load of apples from Asfa and discovered that one of them was rotten. Rather than just chuck it in the bin, she got back in the car and drove 20 miles to return it and complain. Sure they replaced her 10p apple, but it must have cost at least £5 in petrol to return it.0
