  • Got a great Deal from Manchester Store, opposite Piccadily Bus Station(the small one), at the front of the store there is some free belgian chocolate tasting going on...."yum" I hear you say, but that is not all......the lady was handing out little booklets for customers, asking if they were spending £10 or more, to which I replied "ooh yes....Dine In Deal of Course" ( she must have spotted my £7.91 Oakham chicken hidden away under the pre roasted veg tray), the booklet gave another £2 off any spend over £10.....so look out for them, green with different dates on. Got the Dine in Meal for £8...so happy as it is my Birthday today, an OH left to go to India on a training course for a month...so am celebrating on my own...well it's not just any Birthday...it's an M&S Birthday!!;) Cheers Everyone!

What's almost as good is on Monday morning, they put all the items which haven't sold in at half price. So a £7 chicken would be £3.50. Of course, it depends on how much they have left over and you have to be careful of the sell-by dates, if that worries you.

I think you'll find that any chickens over £7 value will be stripped off the shelves as soon as they are put out this weekend!

(Although it amazes me how many people pick the smaller ones without even crouching down and reaching to the back of the fridge for any larger ones, like I do ;).)

And if you have the voucher from the times this weekend then it will come even cheaper

that's true, but think how cheap the little ones will be! And I'm also one of those who loses all dignity, rootling around to find the largest.

Not much left in our store yesterday, no chickens, no gammon, no millionaires shortbread. Also beware the Mushroom Crispbakes included on the deal were priced up at half price where they normally are on the shelf - they didn't go through as half price but M&S honoured it (not as part of the dine in deal).

  • what do you mean by going back to their regular style menu?

i always get annoyed by their rubbish fferings for vegetarians - the best and only one i have ever purchased featured the goat's cheese and pesto en croute - that was fab :D
bargain shopping is the only way to shop :j
  • Went to my local store this morning(Handforth Dean) and there was only the mushroom bake left for the main! I was most disappointed!

Plans scuppered! Little lad was in no fit state for walking to M&S ready to grab a big chicken after an emergency appointment with the dentist. I figured that there would be none left this afternoon so we missed out this time. :-( Still, DH found a Free Range one at Tesco and we'll go without pud and use a huge selection of veg so perhaps we're saving after all.
