The only premium you can potentially lose is the Disability Premium which has been done away with on ESA. Different benefits have different rates and ESA can potentially go higher than other benefits and can go higher at an earlier point in the claim.

On Income Support I get : Because you are sick or disabled : 39.15
Because your partner is caring for someone or they were recently : 29.50

    That mean these are lost?

I get high rate dlae care and low mobility. Parter on my IS claim and gets Carers allowance. how will this effect ESA? I'm 24, partner 19

    Thanks

The £29.50 is the Carers Premium and should not be lost. The £39.15 sounds like couple rate Disability Premium and will not be paid.

Why are you switching to ESA when there is a qualifying condition for IS?

My partner was going try get back into work. so phoned DWP to ask how effect. Was informed that I would need to close my current IS claim and join ESA. However on doing so would lose alot.

No as your partner is looking for a job so therefor soon there will be more income coming into the house

Not all of it though, its based on income so you will still be entitled to some of it paid for you.
Is it not better that as your partner is able to work that she does?????

yeah. However its going start stressing me out changes etc etc. Over worry then effects my mental health badly .

whats a qualifying element of Income Support mean?

Well its made of different elements as to how you qualify. IE- single parent, disabled or sick etc. So whatever category you fall under is your "qualifying element"
