Does anyone know whether Tesco still give Clubcard points if customers switch via them?

I was approached at the begining of September by an EON rep in Tesco who said that if I signed up there and then I would get 1000 clubcard points as an in store offer.

I did not take up the offer so do not know if it was just salesman hype.

    Hi Haarlem,

Just for future reference, this is a perfectly valid offer.

E.ON sales representatives operating in Tesco stores can offer 500 points per fuel to anyone who signs up with E.ON.

Thanks you for the replies. I remember switching to Eon via Tesco in my last premises and received clubcard points for each Direct Debit payment every month. Do they still do this or is it the block 1000 points? If it's the latter, then that's worth just £10 (or £40 if used as reward vouchers). I used to pay around £100 monthly and it soon mounted up.

Just to make you aware that E-on now only give 1 clubcard point for every £2 spent on bills (it used to be 1point for £1)

Not as good as it used to be and its not available on all E-on tariffs (Age concern and Staywarm for example)
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

    Hi The Wanderer,

E.ON do still offer Tesco points to customers for payments made towards their energy.

As plushchris says it's now 1 point for every £2 spent. This is for anyone registering their Tesco Clubcard from the 1 March 2009.

Customers registering prior to this date still receive 1 point per £1 spent on their energy.

Some tariffs E.ON have do not offer Tesco points, tariffs released in the future may also not offer this scheme, therefore it's important to check the details when choosing your energy tariff.
