Any online services that will notify your utility providers of new address?

I'm going to moving in a couple of weeks in a couple of weeks (into rented) and then hope to buy somewhere in another 6 months.

I was just thinking it would be nice if there's an online service that I could set up all my utility providers in and they would notify them all of my address changes each time.

Does anybody know of such a beast?

Your current provider may not provide to your new address and I personally would like to do it all myself to ensure it goes through ok.

The ideas is good, but who would pay for the service ? It is stressfull to, but i found nearly everthing could be done online.

ADDED:*I'm CARP at giving advice. I'm going to put a disclamer in my sig.

I believe there is one on Quidco that gives you cashback when you use it.

    http://www.moveme.com £1 cashback for registration.
  • I've recently moved.. write a list of all the companies and take half a day to do it yourself. Most of it can be done on-line. I wouldn't trust another company to get it right. When you call certain companies it helps/reminds you to make sure all the bills are paid upto date. You know for a fact then that companies are not chasing you for missed payments at your old address.

I also got in touch with royal mail.co.uk to have post re-directed for 6 months. A small price to pay to ensure someone else can't read all your mail if they want to.

You need to provide closing readings and your new address to your old supplier, then opening readings and payment details to your new supplier. You can't just port your existing supplier, you must use the incumbent supplier for the new house on a 'deemed contract' but can't switch soon afterwards.
