Can a USB mouse work with a PS/2 KVM?

I'm thinking of getting a Logitech MX1000 mouse, and I have a funny feeling that the USB to PS/2 connector won't work if I plug it into a KVM/switchbox thingy rather than straight into my PC... Is that true?

I've seen the Rose Uniport PS/2 to USB adapters (http://www.rose.com/datasheet/uniport.pdf), but they're over £100!!! It would be cheaper to get a USB KVM (though that's not exactly a cheap option I shouldn't think).

I'd really appreciate any ideas :-)

have used the adapters before on Belkin KVM's without any problem.

I have a dlink kvm with ps2 connectors and ahs worked with three usb m$ mouses the latest being a wireless optical mouse. I dont get the tilt mechanism to work though.

You will need a usb 2 ps2 convertor which come with m$ mouses

That's great news! Cheers for your help - I've just bought one, and it comes with a USB to PS/2 connector, so hopefully I won't have any problems.
