I understand social tariffs are there to help people which i agree with but.
if someone who is on benefits ( who really could work but dosen't want to). like almost half of the people.
why should the british tax payer have to help fund this.
same as labour just now good idea but just abused imo.His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -

Exactly....at present we have social tariffs only claimable by certain groups.
We should not tamper with the free market.
Look what such tampering has brought us..
Prescotts pathfinder scheme in which homeowners..people who have worked and bought their own homes, are thrown out, given a pittance, and their homes demolished to built social housing.
The decent homes scheme in which Taxpayers pay to upgrade social housing to a "decent" standard (read "high standard") whilst ordinary hard working people have to pay for such things themselves or else,if they cannot afford it,endure their cold, draughty and damp homes becuase they are not entitled to a "decent" home
The Warm front scheme--a taxpayer funded scheme in which fraud is endemic. Again, the chosen ones on benefits can get upto £3,500 of your tax pounds to fit new high efficiency heating systems and insulation. The rest of you workers?? well if your house is cold and your boiler is old/inefficient/knackered..tough..your work will keep you warm.
Social Tariffs for gas/electric/phones...Taxpayer funded schemes in which benefit claimants get cheaper utilities. Workers? if you cant afford your bill get a card meter/get cut off/freeze. Maybe your benefit claiming neighbour will take pity on you and let you in to warm up for a while?
When i was a kid we were p&ss poor. The only form of heating was a coal fire. If we didnt have enough for coal or the coal had run out before pay day,we went out and collected scrap wood. Phone?? ROTFL...no one had a phone where i lived.
The "poor" are rarely really poor these days but even so,they must be made to endure pain in order to aspire to the rewards which society should bring to hard work and due diligence.
I predict that we will soon have social tariffs for fags/booze/alcohol and holiday breaks for hard pressed mums.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Hi All
I have been flicking through posts today to nsee if i could find any help.
I have to say i found some of the comments below distressing.
I worked very hard all my life ended up with a disability lost my job because of it and have struggled to get a job but in the end because of my health had to retire.
I cannot get social tarriffs and like to quote some of you worked my !!! off too.
I was nvery upset by the comments and would ask that please however hard it is for you to take a step and think about what your thought would be if either you or your family were nin the same position youd want the same helpf or them i think, as it isnt what you think because disabled people do not get that much help especially off utilitys.
thankyou0
