Hi Guy's
I've just had my first offer from MBNA for my mis-sold PPI and they have offered me just under £1000.
I know they alway's try and get away with a cheap first offer and i know it's defo more i'm due:) I haven't sent away for the my statements so i'm not sure of the exact amount but has anyone had the same sort of first off from MBNA?? Ans how much did they end up getting??
Thanks

It'd be pure speculation. I've heard (just from reading these threads) that MBNA seem to be quite up front with their refunds - they have likely calculated that's more or less what you are due.
For the sake of a tenner, you can put in a SAR and check yourself if you wish.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

I didn't claim PPI from MBNA but I did claim for unfair charges. MBNA offered me a settlement and sent me a cheque. The amount was lower than I expected/wanted.
I cashed the cheque but I wrote back immediately saying that I accepted the cheque as "part payment" and that we were still in dispute. Two weeks later I got another cheque for the full amount!:AIgnorance can be cured, but stupid is forever!:A

Nice one paulinweston:T. Most companies usually ask you to sign in full and final before they release the money but seems that MBNA then do not so there is hope for Bazzaboy if they do send the letter and cheque together.PaulinWeston wrote: »I didn't claim PPI from MBNA but I did claim for unfair charges. MBNA contacted me last week by phone, they started with an offer of £1k. Informed them that I had already won with other credit cards due to my circumstances, he went to 'speak with his supervisor'. He then came back with offer of £2k, I was getting a bit anxious at this stage as I did not want to push it to far, asked him how much I had paid(£3400) and told him I would settle for £2700. I know I should have held out for the full amount plus interest but he made me feel that he could pull the plug on my claim at any point and I did not want to down the FOS route. Happy with the result. Even happier today when I got a cheque from the Halifax fot £1084. Just got Yorkshire Bank and Capital one to crack now. All due to the people on MSE, wish I had enough cash to but everyone a drink.0
