Hi Again,

Still looking which Sat Nav to get, am inclined to get a Tom Tom with Safety Camera alert facility so any recommendations for these please. Which Safety Camera Sites/Software is best and reasonably priced! Also which Tom Tom, again reasonably priced!

Have read that road angel have laser detection but by the time it would of detected the laser it would be too late. Any evidence to the contrary would be great!

Thanks
PJB

Road Angel units are poor. The laser attachment is sold as a £59 accessory IIRC so if you do buy one, then buy one that has it already included in the kit.

Forget the TT safety camera alert system, it's so far out of date even when it's released.

Far better to get the PGPS speed camera database which is updated on average every 2 weeks. IIRC, it costs about £2 per month, but if like me you are one of the original 'spotters' you get lifetime free membership. You'll also get sat nav advice on there as well.

    Set your cameras accordingly:

Mobiles @ 1 mile/1760 yards (So you can slow down before you get in range.)
    Gatso @ 400 yards
Traffic light @ 200 yards (Usually in towns so 200 yards should be sufficient.)
Specs @ 400-600 yards (Depending on the average speed limit applied.)

I use a TT3, and it's spot on and I drive 44t artics for a living. Always remember though, take time to set it up properly from the outset, and you'll find it rarely goes wrong, and that applies to most sat navs. People who go nuts when they go wrong obviously haven't set them up to work as they should.
That's my mutt in the picture above.

Does the PGPS go on the TT or is it on or a seperate device?

I have an older Becker that i the wife will have in her car, will it work on that anyone?

You download the database file from the pcketgpsworld website, and install it to the tomtom, usually by connecting it to the PC via a usb cable.
